EARLY — The final score may not suggest it, but the fourth-ranked Wall Hawks were put to the test Friday night before turning away the pesky Early Longhorns 34-17 at Longhorns Stadium.

Wall (8-1 overall) improved to 3-0 in District 3-3A Division I football. The Hawks, who won the Class 3A DII state title last year, are open next weekend and finish their regular season Nov. 6 against Ingram Moore.

Early (6-2 overall) slipped to 1-1 in district and finishes at Ingram next week and with Llano on Nov. 6.
