MILES — With several crucial games taking place across the Big Country on Friday night as playoff races are coming into focus, the District 7-2A Division II saw its most pivotal game take place at Gary Krejci Memorial Stadium, where Miles and Hamlin squared off looking to take control of their own destiny for the postseason.

The game, which Miles held the lead in for more than 30 minutes, came down to a fourth-down Hail Mary by Hamlin that fell incomplete at the buzzer, allowing the Bulldogs to escape with a thrilling 24-23 win in a game that had both sides lamenting numerous missed opportunities.

It was also the first time that the Bulldogs won a home game this season.
