With 42 returning lettermen on this year’s roster, the Wylie football team will have experience back at virtually every position. But the Bulldogs’ linebacking corps, in particular, could be an embarrassment of riches.
In Bo Kates, Cooper Hill, Landry Pate and converted safety Carter Nelson, WHS will have four seniors starting at the position this fall — all with at least one season of varsity starting experience under their belt.
And with a combined 384 tackles, 34 tackles for loss, nine sacks and one interception collected among that group a year ago, coach Clay Martin is expecting that quartet to help lead a defensive resurgence in 2026.
