Last year, the Wylie football team found itself on the wrong end of a three-way tie for third place in District 2-5A Division II, resulting in the Bulldogs left on the outside of the playoff picture for the first time since 2021 and just the fourth time since 1993.
With a remarkable 42 lettermen returning from that 5-5 squad, including seven offensive and eight defensive starters, coach Clay Martin’s squad has every intention of capping that drought at a single season.
With experience at virtually every position group and chip on their shoulder, the Bulldogs will be looking to return to district title contention this fall — an even-year tradition for WHS since 2022.
