HAWLEY FEATURE: Bearcats welcome two quality move-ins — a coach and his son

HAWLEY — In high school football, there are standard move-ins during the off-season. And then there are move-ins — players who bring a little extra to the table, both in terms of physical ability and knowledge.

The Hawley Bearcats have landed one of these prized catches in 2026, with the arrival of senior quarterback Jagger Wiley, whose father Justin, has taken over as the defensive coordinator at HHS. Justin, a former head coach at Ballinger (2012-14), had spent the last six years as the head coach at Abernathy and with some success, reaching the playoffs in every season of his tenure.

He has now shifted his family to Hawley, enabling him to be closer to his parents in Ballinger. And with him, comes his son Jagger, who after starting at quarterback for two years in Abernathy, is expected to hold down the starting job behind center with the Bearcats.
