2022 HAWLEY FOOTBALL PREVIEW: Could Hawley be even better than last year’s state runner-up team?

 

HAWLEY — After posting a 15-1 overall record and advancing to the Class 2A DI state championship game, the Hawley Bearcats could be forgiven for taking a brief step back to rebuild. 

It many cases, that is what is expected in the wake of such success. But in Hawley’s case, the Bearcats may be even better in 2022, if they can successfully fill a few vacancies. 

Entering this year with a jaw-dropping 81-22 overall record at HHS, coach Mitch Ables has 18 returning letterman from last year’s state runner-up club, seven offensive and eight defensive starters, including most of their key skill personnel.
