Carlos Walliser is a long ways from home, more than 5,000 miles away to be precise.

But the foreign exchange student from Madrid, Spain, has found a home at TLCA-Abilene and with his host family, Jeremy and Meagan Kirk.

Coming to Abilene has been quite the adjustment for Walliser, who moved from a city with 3.4 million residents to one with 124,710 according to the 2020 census.

Some of the biggest adjustments that Walliser has had to make are ones that many in the area take for granted.
