GAME REPORT: Slow start, turnovers hurt Cooper in 52-23 loss at Azle

AZLE — Another slow start resulted in a familiar outcome for the Cooper Cougars, who fell to Azle 52-23 on Friday at Hornet Field.

Cooper fell behind 14-0 after a quarter and 24-0 by halftime, forcing a comeback that never came for coach Aaron Roan’s squad.

The Cougars efforts were hurt by four turnovers that helped the Hornets go up 45-7 late in the third quarter.
