Gatesville 46, Pecos 37 — Picking up a nondistrict game before their playoff opener next week, the Eagles dropped a competitive game to close the regular season at 3-5 overall and 1-3 in district play.
Pecos, which earned the No. 4 playoff seed out of this league with a win over Snyder last week, led 13-8 after a quarter and was within two scores heading into the fourth (32-21) but was unable to rally over the final 12 minutes.
The Eagles will open the playoffs next week against District 2 champion Lubbock Estacado (4-6, 3-1).
