Abilene High 28, Midland High 7 — Eric Abbe rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns Friday to fuel the Eagles to their first win of the season and help give Mike Fullen his first victory as a head coach.

The Eagles (1-3) led 14-0 at halftime and built a 28-0 fourth-quarter lead before Midland finally got on the board with 2:52 remaining in the game. AHS outgained the Bulldogs 305-131, holding the home team to just 38 yards rushing on 27 carries.

The Eagles will try to carry the momentum from Friday’s win into this week when they travel to North Richland Hills for a district opener against the struggling Richland Rebels.
