FORT WORTH — The No. 3 Abilene High softball team opened the Class 6A playoffs in dominating fashion Thursday, blowing out Arlington High 23-0 in Game 1 of a best-of-three bi-district series at North Crowley High School.

Senior ace Kaylen Washington pitched a five-inning two-hitter, striking out 11 while walking one, and Alyssa Washington went 4 for 5 with a double, a triple, two home runs and eight RBIs to lead an explosive offensive effort.
