When you look at the Cisco girls basketball team’s success this year, you’ll find the senior trio of Katelyn Bird,  Lauren Underwood and Leigh Anne Montell at the heart of it.

But the thing that really makes the Lady Loboes special is that every player on coach Brent Kilpatrick’s roster has a valuable role and is made to feel important by those seniors.

The confidence the team’s fourth-year players have and instill in their younger teammates empowers those girls to perform at high level when called upon. And it’s largely thanks this dynamic that No. 14 Cisco (31-3) is getting ready for a Region I-3A quarterfinal clash with sixth-ranked Jim Ned on Tuesday.
