STEPHENVILLE — All the rivalry cliches were applicable in Friday’s doubleheader between Brownwood and Stephenville. Everything that had happened before was out the window. Records meant nothing, pride was on the line, and so on and so forth.
The results matched all of the axioms, with the schools splitting the twin bill. The Stephenville girls edged Brownwood in Game 1 by a 28-26 margin. The Brownwood boys rallied to take the nightcap 71-66.
Both games offered the over-the-top intensity and physicality the series is known for, and neither was decided until the game’s final minutes.
