MONAHANS — The Wylie volleyball team’s drive to its area-round matchup against El Paso Del Valle lasted far longer than the match itself, as the seventh-ranked Lady Bulldogs cruised past the Lady Conquistadores for a 25-11, 25-11, 25-12 sweep on Monday to earn a trip to the Region I-5A Division II semifinals.

The victory was the 20th in a row for Wylie, which opened the playoffs last week with a sweep of Wolfforth Frenship.

With Monday’s outcome, the Lady Bulldogs (36-4 overall) advance to take on the winner of Tuesday’s match between No. 6 Fort Worth Eagle Mountain (34-7) and No. 12 Joshua (32-6) later this week at a time, date and place to be determined.
