WICHITA FALLS — Needing a road win over Wichita Falls Legacy to stay in line for District 2-5A Division II’s No. 2 spot and a home playoff game, the Wylie football team came through with a comfortable 41-16 win over the Leopards on Friday at Memorial Stadium.

The Bulldogs never trailed in the ballgame, outscoring Legacy 20-0 in the second half after the Leopards had pulled within 21-16 late in the second quarter.

The win sets up a huge home matchup with crosstown rival Cooper next week as the two teams with identical records — 6-3 overall and 4-1 in league play — will battle it out with the winner hosting a postseason game and the loser heading to El Paso for the first round of the playoffs.
