BRECKENRIDGE — As he walks through the hallways at Breckenridge High School, senior offensive linemen Joacim Fernandez maintains a soft-spoken, friendly demeanor. 

Once he puts on a helmet and steps onto a football field, however, Mr. Nice Guy does a vanishing act. And in his stead, Joacim (pronounced Joe-Seem) becomes one of the most intimidating and aggressive players in the Big Country.

Now beginning his third and final varsity season, Fernandez has added an additional 17 pounds to his frame via fanatical effort in the weight room and will enter this season as a 6-foot-1, 265-pound offensive line that the Buckaroos are looking at as a leader up front.
