Hunter Kresta represents a microcosm for why the Ballinger Bearcats have higher hopes this football season after finishing 3-7 last year.

Kresta is one of 15 seniors on the Bearcats roster. The seniors have enjoyed success in multiple sports at all levels. Last year’s 3-7 showing in football had much to do with injuries, with four starters being lost for the season.

“Most of the seniors, we’ve been together since the seventh grade,” Kresta said. “We’ve played together, had some fun and improved through the years. Our goal is to win district this year.

“This is my third year on the varsity, and I feel a lot more confident.”
