On the surface, what the Winters Blizzards accomplished on the football field last fall was pretty nondescript, save for a magical evening in late September when they did a lot of things right en route to a 59-0 thumping of Abilene TLCA.

The victory was one of only two the Blizzards mustered in 2025 — against eight defeats. Overall, Winters scored 136 points, gave up 375 and generally was outmanned almost every time it took the field.

No matter. That wasn’t the ultimate measure of what coach Ryan Pannell and Co. were able to do in his first season at the helm of a program that hasn’t recorded as many as four wins since 2020.
