SAGINAW — A batter who didn’t hit the ball wound up making the most important pitch of the night to propel Frisco Panther Creek to a 1-0 victory over Brock in the opening game of a best-of-three Class 4A Division II state semifinal baseball series that will decide which team will play for the state title next week.
The crazy, tell-tale moment came in the bottom of the sixth inning of an ever-tense battle between two stellar baseball teams. And, because of how it played out, it overshadowed one of the better-pitched games played anywhere in the state this spring.
It went down like this:
