In an unexpected move, the Roscoe school board voted 4-3 on Wednesday night to not renew the contract of Jake Freeman, the school’s head football coach and athletic director since 2013.

Freeman led Roscoe to an overall record of 64-68 with nine playoff appearances, including district championships in 2015 and 2021.

Wednesday’s decision ended Freeman’s run at a place he considered a dream job.
