GAME STORY: Peaster outlasts Comanche in overtime thriller to open playoffs

GRAHAM — As Comanche coach Jake Escobar walked out to midfield after regulation, he thought his squad was in the perfect position against Peaster in a Region I-3A Division I bi-district matchup Thursday night at Newton Field .

The Indians had won a 13-10 overtime game against Jim Ned just over a month earlier and were getting set for an extra period of play to open the postseason.

As the visiting team, Peaster coach Trevor Owens had the opportunity to call the coin toss, winning it and choosing to go on defense first. It was a decision that ultimately made the biggest impact as the Greyhounds claimed a 33-30 win — the first playoff victory in school history.
