HAMLIN — As the temperatures outside have cooled off, the Big Country Preps Game of the Week continues to get hotter and hotter.
Heading into Friday night’s District 7-2A Division II showdown between Roscoe and Hamlin, three of the last four choices for the top area game had been one-score games.
The Plowboys and Pied Pipers nearly extended that streak, but a 29-yard field goal by Roscoe freshman David Villa with under a minute to play gave the Plowboys the cushion they needed for a 29-18 win to stay tied with Albany atop the district standings.
