ABILENE — With her team’s season on the line Monday in the third game its Region I-2A area-round series against Bangs, Stamford ace Emma Follis was nothing short of dominant Monday at Abilene Christian University’s Poly Wells Field.
Coming off a rough 14-4 loss in Game 2 that was extended deep into Saturday night by lightning delays, the standout sophomore delivered a six-inning shutout in the decisive third game, collecting 15 strikeouts in a 13-0 run-rule victory.
The win, which improved Stamford to 21-8 on the year, earned the Lady Bulldogs a regional quarterfinal date with district mate Anson later this week.
