SIGNING DAY 2024: Abilene schools combine for more than 20 signees across five sports

With athletes across the country putting pen to paper to make their college choices official Wednesday, Abilene’s local high schools were as active as they’ve ever been on National Signing Day.

Wylie had a school-record 10 athletes across four sports take part in a single ceremony Wednesday afternoon, while Abilene High had nine athletes from three sports sign their letters of intent over the course of the day and Cooper had four football players represented at its Signing Day ceremony.

In all, more than 20 local athletes made pledges to 13 schools, spanning all level of collegiate athletics.
