DISTRICT 3-2A DIV. I WEEK 9 REPORT: Forsan routs Christoval; Sonora, Ozona pick up wins

Forsan 34, Christoval 7 — The Buffaloes took care of business against the Cougars, racking up 259 yards rushing in a blowout win. 

Forsan (7-1, 3-0), which finished with 359 total yards, got 94 yards and two touchdowns on the ground from Grant Roman, while Huston Stockton ran for 65 yards and Yandell Melendez ran for 59. Nicholas Holloway added 100 yards and two TDs passing, hitting Colton Martinez four times for 68 yards and a score to help the Buffs take a 19-7 lead into halftime.

Christoval, which fell to 2-6 overall and 0-3 in district play, was held to 100 total yards, getting 37 yards passing and 28 yards rushing from Stanton McGlothlin. 

Sonora 60, Anthony 26 — Edgar Deluna ran for 165 yards and four touchdowns and received for 87 yards and another TD, while Jaime Buitron passed for 189 yards and three scores to lead the Broncos to a blowout win over the Wildcats.

Sonora (8-0, 3-0), which also got touchdown receptions from Juan Castillo (82 yards) and Kam Aguero (29 yards), scored the first 34 points of the game and led 41-13 at halftime.

Anthony (3-4, 1-2) was led by Angel Solis, who passed for a pair of touchdowns, while Gio Lara and Marcos Antonio Gutierrez both returned fumbles for scores.

Ozona 40, Reagan County 31 — Hudson Fowler passed for 222 yards and a pair of touchdowns while adding another score on the ground to lift the Lions to an impressive win over the Owls. 

Ozona (4-4, 2-1), which got a huge receiving day from Dusty Smith (6-137, 1 TD), raced out to a 34-7 halftime lead and held off a furious Reagan County rally in the second half.

RCHS (4-4, 0-3), which outgained the Lions 438-301, got 330 yards and three touchdowns passing from Kason Brown and 179 yards and two TDs receiving from Omrie Johnson, but the Owls were hurt by three turnovers.
