ARLINGTON — The Benjamin Mustangs used an efficient, quick strike offense and claimed the first state championship in school history with a 68-20 win over Loraine in the Class 1A Division II title game at AT&T Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
Benjamin ran just 17 plays on offense but gained 363 yards behind the legs of Offensive MVP Grayson Rigdon as the Mustangs held the ball for just 5:22 of the game that ended in the third quarter on the 45-point rule.
Rigdon ran for 255 yards and five scores on just 10 carries while completing both of his passes for 88 yards and a pair of scores.
