DISTRICT 2-5A DIV. I WEEK 8 REPORT: Abilene High falls at Lubbock Cooper; Coronado, Caprock pick up needed wins

Lubbock Cooper 11, Abilene High 8 — The Eagles outgained the Pirates 209-125 and limited Cooper to just five first downs, but it wasn’t enough to come up with a big road win.

AHS (3-5, 2-2) scored the first eight points and led 8-3 at halftime, but the Pirates got a 57-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Spruiell to Cooper Morris in the final minute of the third quarter for what proved to be the game-winning score.
