GAME STORY: Wall overcomes fumbling problem to hold off Mason

WALL ā€” The numbers looked more like a team playing its first game of the year than a squad halfway through the regular season, but in the end it didn’t matter as Wall knocked off Mason 14-6 in nondistrict action Friday Night at Clayton Weishuhn Field.

The Hawks had 10 fumbles, losing four, while also throwing an interception, but it was Briggs Jones who came up with the play of the night to help Wall improve to 4-1.

After a Mason timeout with the Hawks kneeling to close out the game, Wall had its ninth fumble of the night with under 30 seconds left to give the Punchers possession at the WHS 26-yard line.

Jones then picked up his second interception in as many drives to seal the win.
