DISTRICT 3-4A DIV. II WEEK 3 REPORT: Sweetwater tops Pecos; Randall too much for Snyder

Sweetwater 32, Pecos 16 — The Mustangs picked up their first win of the season, using a fast start to run away and hide from the Eagles.

Sweetwater (1-2) raced out to a 9-0 first quarter lead that they carried into halftime, before scoring the first 14 points of the second half to take a 24-0 lead in the third quarter.

The Mustangs only gained 277 total yards of offense, but they held the Eagles to 184 yards — all but 19 on the ground. Quarterback Chris Gomez completed 16 of 18 passes for 184 yards and three touchdowns to lead Sweetwater, which got 101 yards and two TDs receiving from Jadyn Forbes.
