DISTRICT 6-2A DII WEEK 2 REPORT: Hamlin earns first win since 2020; Albany, Cross Plains dominant

Hamlin 6, Water Valley 2 — The Pipers overcame an early 2-0 deficit caused by an errant punt snap with a first-quarter touchdown and held on the rest of the way to win their first game since 2020.

The Pied Pipers rushed for more than 200 yards as a team but hurt themselves with multiple drive-killing penalties. Hamlin’s defense proved to be the difference, forcing several turnovers and holding Water Valley to 99 total yards.
