Snyder 28, Slaton 14 — Snyder rode a big second quarter to a season-opening victory over Slaton in a clash of SHS Tigers.
Coach Wes Wood’s club was limited to 298 total yards (154 passing; 144 rushing), but that was enough thanks to a 21-point second quarter that staked the home team to a three-touchdown lead at halftime.
Snyder, which held Slaton to 222 total yards, was led offensively by quarterback Dyllan Angeley, who passed for 78 yards and a touchdown, rushed for 56 yards and added a 13-yard touchdown reception. Easton Stewart added 76 yards and two TDs passing, while Bug Arellano rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown and Dom Dominguez had 98 yards and one TD receiving.
