Football is just around the corner, and we at BigCountryPreps.com are committed to bringing you the information you need to prepare for your favorite team’s season.
We’ll be releasing our Big Country Preps Preseason Football Preview, the most comprehensive look at the upcoming Big Country football season anywhere, on Wednesday, Aug. 17. But you won’t have to wait until then to sate your gridiron appetite.
Leading up to the first day of fall football practice on Aug. 1, we’ll be spotlighting each 11-man team in the area and posing some of the key questions they’ll face in 2022 as part of our annual “Countdown to Two-a-Days” series.
We move to Class 2A Division I with the Forsan Buffaloes. On Thursday we will take a look at the Anson Tigers, followed by the Cisco Loboes on Friday.
FORSAN BUFFALOES
LAST YEAR’S RECORD
- 10-2 overall, 4-1 in District 3-2A Division I
ONE KEY STAT
- The Buffaloes’ 10 wins last season marked Forsan’s highest total since 1986 and represented just the fifth season in program history with double-digit victories.
TWO NAMES TO KNOW
- Senior OL/DL/K Nolan Park (Graded out at 91 percent, had 60 tackles and 3 sacks and hit 40 of 49 PATs and 6 of 11 field goals in 2021)
- Junior RB/LB Kevin Kligora (Rushed for 341 yards and 3 touchdowns and had 74 tackles, 4 sacks, 3 tackles for loss and 2 forced fumbles in 2021)
THREE BURNING QUESTIONS
- After losing a big and strong senior class, will Forsan be able to maintain its upward trajectory?
- Who will emerge as offensive and defensive playmakers behind what should be solid lines on both sides of the ball?
- Will Forsan’s new West Texas district help or hurt the Buffaloes’ playoff seeding?
