FORSAN — The ninth-ranked Coahoma softball team kicked off its playoff run in style Thursday, scoring a pair of run-rule wins over Wall to sweep its Region I-3A bi-district series and advance to next week’s area round.
Fueled by fast starts in both games, the Buldogettes opened with a 13-3 win in Game 1 before shutting out the Lady Hawks 10-0 in Game 2 to improve to 25-4-1 and earn a matchup with the Early-Henrietta winner next week.
It was the 15th consecutive win for Coahoma, which is 18-0-1 since its last loss, a 4-3 setback to Class 5A Lubbock Cooper on March 8.
