EASTLAND — Playing a Tolar team that had amassed 26 wins coming into Friday’s Region II-2A area-round matchup at Marshall Gym, the 13th-ranked Stamford girls basketball team didn’t want to give the Lady Rattlers any opportunity to get momentum on their side. 

So the Lady Bulldogs didn’t.

Instead, coach Joe Crabb’s squad opened the game on a 17-2 run and cruised from there to a dominating 70-28 win to advance to the Region II-2A quarterfinals where they’ll face district mate Haskell next week at a time, date and place to be determined.
