STEPHENVILLE — Every high school basketball player loves scoring points. And most spend a large amount of time honing their ability to do exactly that. The challenge for coaches, is to get the teenagers to realize it is defense that determines the degree of team success they will experience.

That message has been received in Stephenville, where its girls basketball team is creating enough defensive stops to compete for its second straight district championship and third in four years.
