ARLINGTON — Who doesn’t like pageantry at the football state championship games? Who doesn’t like a big atmosphere?
Of course, every real high school football fan loves it. That’s why we take part in the annual migration to AT&T Stadium each December to participate in Texas’ greatest high school spectacle.
There is, however, at least one drawback and it showed itself in Stephenville’s 38-21 win over Austin LBJ in Friday’s Class 4A Division I state championship game.
Sometimes, “Jerry World” (as it has become known in some circles) can simply overwhelm the event itself.
