MCKINNEY — With the score tied a 28 in overtime, nobody was really surprised that the Brock Eagles went to standout tight end Nathan Jones for what proved to be the game-winning touchdown against Mount Vernon.
The way they did it, however, caught nearly everyone off-guard including every defender on the Mount Vernon defense.
With Jones lining up t center, the Eagles shifted two linemen to the right, leaving Jones at the end of the line, still snapping the ball, but eligible for a pass. After snapping the ball to Tyler Moody, Jones did a short out pattern into the end zone where Moody found him all alone for a 35-28 lead.
