Has there ever been a bigger regular season game in the history of Forsan football than the one which will take place out in oil country on Friday?

An unbeaten, 10th-ranked FHS club (9-0, 4-0 District 3-2A Division I) will play host to No. 5 Hawley (9-0, 4-0) for an outright district title.

It really doesn’t get much better than that in any location. But in far-flung, isolated Forsan, something like this happens about as often as the planets align.

Big Country Preps will be there. Television stations will be there. Newspapers will be there. And two of the best Class 2A teams in the entire state will be there.
