The first one is always the hardest.

For Jeremy Kirk and Texas Leadership Charter Academy of Abilene, that was certainly true.

The Eagles and their first-time head coach had seen their share of heartbreaking losses this year prior to Saturday’s win over Newman International Academy.

It was the first win in TLCA’s brief two-year varsity history and Kirk’s first win as a head coach as the Eagles knocked off NIA 66-18 in a neutral site game.
