After posting a combined 2-18 record across the 2018 and 2019 seasons, the Wylie football team took a nice step forward last fall in coach Clay Martin’s first year at the helm.
While COVD limited the Bulldogs to just eight games, Martin’s squad finished 4-4, reaching the playoffs for the first time in WHS’ three years as a Class 5A program.
With 27 returning lettermen being joined by call-ups from a 4-3 junior varsity team, the Bulldogs will be looking to build on that progress this season. And despite graduating seven starters on both sides of the ball, Martin believes they can do just that.
