AUSTIN — With two of the top Class 2A pitchers in the state going toe-to-toe, the general consensus was that one or two runs may be enough to win Tuesday’s state semifinal between Stamford and Weimar. 

As fate would have it, the Stamford Lady Bulldogs and University of Texas-bound pitcher Citlaly Gutierrez proved the projections correct in a 1-0 SHS win at McCombs Field.
