FORSAN — On a cold, dreary Friday, the Colorado City softball team had enough energy to muster a quick start, and enough poise to hold off a Forsan rally in a 14-6 win at FHS.
Mallory Kern was 4 for 5 with two doubles and Kaci Rivera was 3 for 5 with a double, triple and five RBIs to lead Colorado City (19-6, 5-1 District 4-2A), which has forced a first-place tie with Forsan in the league standings.
The Lady Buffaloes (11-3-1, 5-1) were led by Aubrie Smith, who was 2 for 4 with a three-run homer and by Kelcey Zubiate, who was 2 for 4 with a run scored.
