Coming into the year with just two players who had played varsity football in a Cooper uniform, the Cougar offensive line was a significant question mark for coach Aaron Roan and his staff.
Add in a global pandemic that wiped out spring ball and played havoc on the fall practice and game schedule, and it would have been perfectly understandable if that group had struggled in 2020.
But eight games and 4,000 yards later, that’s been anything but the case. In fact, that group has largely matched the talented and senior-laden bunch that helped the Cougars average 39.4 points and 425.4 yards a year ago — a fact that’s surprised even Roan.
