GAME STORY: Abilene High blasts Frenship on homecoming to solidify playoff hopes

Facing off with Wolfforth Frenship in a game both teams needed to win to turn their playoff hopes into reality, Abilene High made it clear early which squad would still be standing after the final buzzer sounded Friday at Shotwell Stadium.

Celebrating homecoming in style, the Eagles scored 14 points in each of the first three quarters and took a shutout into the fourth to hand the Tigers a devastating 42-7 loss and put themselves in prime position to end a three-year playoff drought.

Phonzo Dotson rushed for 105 yards and three touchdowns on just 12 carries, and the AHS defense limited Frenship to 263 yards of total offense while forcing four turnovers in what was a thorough whipping from start to finish.
