SAN SABA — It was billed as a possible preview to a late postseason matchup in Region I and it was also the Big Country Preps Game of the Week.
But when sixth-ranked San Saba and No. 8 Cisco finally kicked off on Friday at Rogan Field, the game took an abrupt 90-degree turn into something totally unexpected — a dominating 48-6 rout posted by Cisco.
Hunter Long rushed for 198 yards and accounted for three scores and Jerrod Fisher rushed for 183 yards and three touchdowns to lead Cisco (7-3, 5-0) which locked up its 10th straight district title and extended its 55-game district winning streak with a masterpiece of execution.
San Saba fell to 8-2 and 4-1 after being held to a season-low 136 yards in total offense, including just 20 in the first half.
