Football fans tend to see things in black and white. For them, a win is a win and a loss is a loss and at the end of the day, that’s all that really matters. And I’m fine with that. I was the same way for years as a diehard University of Arizona fan.
Football coaches, however, view the game in far more practical terms — focusing on the effort and overall improvement of their teams ahead of wins and losses. They’re more or less forced into this mode of thinking as a preventative measure against insanity. But occasionally, fans can benefit from this approach and I’ll give you two current examples: Cisco and San Saba.
