Coming off a shutout of Clyde in their playoff opener last week, the Brock Eagles put together another dominant performance Thursday at Shotwell Stadium, scoring the first 42 points in a 55-14 area-round win over Denver City.
Brock, which outgained the Mustangs 386-208, led 22-0 by the end of the first quarter and was never challenged after that in improving to 10-2 on the year.
“I don’t know how to explain it, but these kids, they do feel the playoffs,” Brock coach Chad Worrell said. “They’ve practiced different the last two weeks. Our defense has been playing well all year, but our offense is really starting to click.
“Playing good special teams and taking care of the football and doing things like that, those are things you’ve got to do to win in the playoffs. Our kids understand that and they’re coming out and playing hard.”
