Noah Garcia ran for 189 yards and five touchdowns, Aidan Thompson threw for 207 yards with two touchdowns and Cooper moved to 9-0 on the season and 5-0 in District 2-5A Division I with a 49-14 win over Lubbock High on Friday at Shotwell Stadium.
Dylon Davis added two interceptions — increasing his state-leading season total to 12 — as the ninth-ranked Cougars did their part to set a showdown in two weeks with Amarillo High for the district championship.
Davis, who broke Brandon Berg’s career interception record with the 15th and 16th picks of his career, had a third interception that was called back due to a penalty on Cooper.
