FEATURE: Ball-hawking Cooper defense forcing turnovers at breakneck pace

With a school-record 10 interceptions on the season, senior cornerback Dylon Davis has emerged as the face of a stingy Cooper defense.

But Davis’ penchant for taking the ball away — he has also recovered three fumbles — isn’t a trait unique to him.

The Cougar defense as a whole has developed an identity as one that looks for and capitalizes on opportunities to force turnovers. And with 22 takeaways through eight games, coach Aaron Roan’s defensive unit is making quite a name for itself in that department.
