GAME STORY: AHS starts fast, finishes strong in big district win over Haltom

More than four hours separated Abilene High’s first and last touchdowns Friday night at Shotwell Stadium. But the two plays served as fitting book ends to a dominating effort against Haltom City Haltom.

On a night that featured two lengthy lightning delays, the first between the third and fourth quarters, the Eagles built a 28-0 lead and held off a late Buffalo rally to score an important 35-18 win over Haltom.

The victory improved AHS to 3-5 overall and 2-2 in District 3-6A play, putting the Eagles firmly back in the mix for one of their league’s four playoff spots.
